The CPR came into force on 24 April 2011; however, some sections of the regulation have been deferred to commence in 2013. The main purpose of the regulation is to simplify and clarify the framework created by the original directive. It is hoped that while being more transparent, the new regulation will be more effective in ensuring harmonised conformity within the European Union in the regulation of construction products
